# Timeline basics

Each element sits on a track. Visual tracks hold video and images. Audio tracks hold generated speech or uploaded sound. Music and sound effect tracks layer supporting audio. Text tracks hold overlays and callouts.

Use trim handles to shorten clips, drag elements to adjust timing, and mute or hide tracks while reviewing. Keep the opening tight: many ads succeed or fail in the first few seconds.

If an element is linked to another element, such as generated video and its audio, be careful when moving or trimming so the scene still feels synchronized.
