# Text overlays

Use text overlays for hook callouts, feature labels, price or offer, social proof, disclaimers, and final CTA. Captions follow speech; overlays communicate visual emphasis or information that should stay on screen.

Keep overlays short. A strong overlay is usually one line: "30% off starter pack", "3-minute setup", or "Try it free today". Long paragraphs should become captions, voiceover, or a landing page message instead.

Place overlays where they do not cover faces, hands, products, subtitles, or important UI. Test on a phone-sized preview when creating vertical ads.
